Just A Quickie

I have so very little time for blogging these days but every now and then  I feel the need to share something. Today this is a new song lyric. I would have recorded this and included a You Tube vid, however I am struggling with the way the song goes together.

So just for now, in case I lose the scraps of paper this was written on (actually a couple of supermarket receipts) and the whole thing is forgotten, I am adding this "partial" post to this blog which some of you may remember as a songwriting blog. An aim which has been long forgotten.

I actually do not have a name for it yet but, here it is anyway:

chorus
Yesterday's a long time gone
Tomorrow's the day you've gotta move on
Today's the day you feared would never arrive
But here you are
And let's be clear that you've survived

verse 1
Yes I know you've had a loss
That person you knew has gone
Well you know we loved him too
Time for us all  to move on

verse 2
Things are different today
Everything's frightening you
You know you can count on us
to do what you've gotta do

chorus
Yesterday's a long time gone
Tomorrow's the day you've gotta move on
Today's the day you feared would never arrive
But here you are
And let's be clear that you've survived

verse 3
Tomorrow brings adventure
As you learn to live with strife
Count on us , we're there for you
To help with your brand new life

chorus
Yesterday's a long time gone
Tomorrow's the day you've gotta move on
Today's the day you feared would never arrive
But here you are
And let's be clear that you've survived

chorus
Yesterday's a long time gone
Tomorrow's the day you've gotta move on
Today's the day you feared would never arrive
But here you are
And you've survived

I know the meter is not quite right and the rhymes are a bit naff, but I keep jotting down ideas and then losing them. I am trying this in desperation - I suppose. Having put in down in a public way I guess I am hoping that I will finish it for once.

(Came back today to edit content slightly and the phrasing)

WISH ME LUCK, please
