Ian Cambell RIP

As a young man I was introduced to folk music by the Ian Campbell Folk Group. I used to frequent their folk club, the Jug Of Punch with the girl who became my wife, virtually every week.

The crowds were huge, the music was fantastic and the scrumpy cider flowed like water. Wonderful memories of the group and the club. And I am still married to that girl 40 odd years later.

Ian Campbell died recently, you can read an obituary from the Guardian dated 28th November under the subtitle, "Leading singer in the British folk revival"

A very sad day for British folk music fans.
